Tube-in shell exchanger wear:
A heat exchanger contains several hundreds of tubes, all undergoing mechanical stress and chemical corrosion. Corrosion may cause leaks into the rest of the equipment stopping the production of chilled water but also damaging compressor mechanism and heat exchanger internal elements, ultimately leading to major system breakdowns. The tube condition is therefore critical to chiller performance and yet tubes are not checked during standard maintenance. While they are relatively easy to maintain, heat exchangers can be very expensive to repair or replace.

Various types of defects may happen while your chiller seems to be performing well:- FREEZE RUPTURE Caused by low water fl ow in the evaporator. compressor Oil Analysis For Chillers
The compressor is an integral part of an air conditioning unit. With only the analysis of its oil, the Vihan lab can get a "look inside," without tearing it completely down. When unacceptable wear conditions develop inside the compressor, a corresponding detectable change in the characteristics of the oil will become evident.
The Vihan Chemical Lab can test an oil sample for the following properties:
- Metal wear
- Moisture
- Acidity
- Viscosity (optional)
- Aniline point (optional)
- Solid residue (optional)
- Numerical data on all tests performed as well as data from previous samples on the same compressor
- Present and past interpretations and recommendations on samples from the compressor
